About DASH Score Calculator

The DASH questionnaire measures physical function and symptoms in upper limb musculoskeletal disorders. Widely used in physiotherapy for shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand conditions.

Clinical Applications

  • Outcome measurement in shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand physiotherapy across conservative and post-surgical pathways
  • Evaluating work-related upper limb disorders and return-to-work capacity
  • Monitoring response to manual therapy, exercise, and splinting interventions
  • Benchmarking outcomes in sports medicine for throwing athletes and overhead workers

How to Interpret Results

  • A change of 10–15 points on the DASH is considered the minimum clinically important difference — improvements below this threshold may not reflect meaningful functional gain
  • Scores above 40 generally indicate significant disability that warrants further investigation or referral
  • The QuickDASH (11 items) has comparable validity to the full 30-item DASH and is preferred in busy clinical settings
